It is not easy to find a part of the average American’s regular routine which is not taxed by the government. Cities, counties, states, and the feds are always looking for more money to pay their bulging workforce of overpaid, under-worked, union-protected civil “servants”.

One recreational habit many of us have is watching streaming video at home or using The Cloud to speed-up our computer tasks. Both of these have been overlooked by the tax collectors, until now.

According to the Wall St. Journal, several states are planning ways to collect cash from you for every hour you spend watching Netflix, or HBO, etc., and for time you spend on The Cloud.

Barack Hussein Obama’s former employer, the city of Chicago, has led the Socialist march with a 9% “Amusement Tax” tacked onto the monthly bill for services like Netflix, Hulu, and X-Box+.

Government brainiacs say they are losing money when you watch a streaming movie rather than buying a taxable DVD, or a taxable ticket to a theater. They say they should be allowed to recover that “lost” income by imposing a tax on the activity, or technology, that caused the “loss”. Wait. What? That’s like saying they will tax you for driving a fuel-efficient car because they are losing the tax money they were getting when you drove a gas-guzzling behemoth.
