“Today is a proud day for equality and for upholding the law,” the Colorado ACLU lawyer said. “In America, no one should be turned away from a shop or restaurant because of who they are or who they love.”

Discrimination would be if the baker refused based upon the customer’s sexual orientation. That is not the case here. The owner’s refusal is based upon the message being sent to all who see his cake, not upon the person ordering the cake. The baker is willing to make anything any customer orders, unless it conflicts with his moral and spiritual convictions.

The bakery’s lawyer argued, “Business owners have a right, especially when they’re engaged in expression, to operate in accordance with their beliefs. They may decline to create an expression that violates their convictions”. The judge disagrees.

The judge says businesses have NO right to refuse to participate in promoting something simply because they believe it to be morally and spiritually wrong.

Whatever the law of Man allows must be actively promoted by any business owner?

The baker faces fines if he continues to refuse to actively promote homosexual marriage.
