The new federal budget increases the size of government by 13%.

37% (90) of the Republican Representatives voted against it because it continues the historically fatal practice of spending more than we have (see Roman Empire, Soviet Union) .

39% (77) of the Democrat Representatives voted against it because it only authorizes $300,000,000,000.00 ($ 300 billion) additional credit card spending which is not enough for their welfare/entitlement/boondoggle/pork barrel programs.

So, why did the President indicate he will sign it? Here’s his explanation:

“Without more Republicans in Congress, we were forced to increase spending on things we do not like or want in order to finally, after many years of depletion, take care of our Military. Sadly, we needed some Dem votes for passage. Must elect more Republicans in 2018 Election!”-– President Trump on Twitter

Using the family budget analogy, we just got a new credit card in the mail. It has a sizable credit limit which means we can continue to  buy stuff with money we don’t have and not worry about bankruptcy. . . at least until the new card is maxed-out!

The Swamp is holding its own against efforts to drain it.
