Pending patent legislation HR-9 hurts American innovation and small businesses by weakening rights of holders of patents and property rights. Currently rights are guaranteed in the Constitution.
A vote is expected in the House the week of July 20th.
This legislation hinders growth and innovation.
HR-9 helps big companies (China) steal American inventions and undermines American property rights set forth in the Constitution. The bill could block going after infringers who copy inventions, making it harder to stop foreign knockoffs.
Opponents of the bill argue that HR-9 would hurt smaller inventors (US entrepeneurs) trying to defend their patents from larger companies (China) who can afford massive legal fees.
