Today’s SOTU address is required by  Article II, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution. Since 1913 the report has been conveyed live before a joint session of Congress.

Rep. Blumenauer (D-OR) White/Male. “… more productive use of my time”.

Rep. Jayapal (D-WA) Indian/female. “we will have our own SOTU.”

Rep. Lee (D-CA) Black/female. “he said ‘shithole!'”

Rep. Lewis (D-GA) Black/male. “I won’t waste my time.”

Rep. Meeks (D–NY) Black/male. “I don’t respect him.”

Rep. Schakowsky (D-IL) White/female. “I refuse to normalize him.”

Rep. Sires (D-NJ) Hispanic/male. “I am offended by his rhetoric.”

Rep/ Waters (D-CA) Black/female. “He does not deserve my attention.”

Rep. Wilson (D-FL) Black/female. “it will be empty promises and lies.”
