He learned the morals, manners, and body of knowledge necessary for an 18th century Virginia gentleman.

At the age of 16 he surveyed much of the State of Virginia.

At the age of 22, as a lieutenant-colonel, he fought in the French and Indian War. In battle four bullets ripped through his coat but did not touch him. Two horses were shot from under him.

At the age of 43 he was elected Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army. He took command of his ill-trained troops and embarked upon The Revolutionary War that was to last six grueling years.

At the age of 55 he spearheaded the move to replace the defective Articles of Confederation with The Constitution. The Electoral College unanimously elected him President. He served two terms and retired.

At the age of 67 he died.
