NeverTrumpers will say Mrs. Trump had a speck in her eye, and her husband was dozing-off, but many see a heartfelt response to a great old Christian hymn (How Great Thou Art).
She and her husband seem to be touched by such lyrics as:
“And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.”
Believe what you will, but do not deny that it is a stark change from the previous First Lady who was only moved to tears by her own words.
Also notice the First Lady gives the performer a standing ovation.
