Senate Democrats are about to offer President Trump their support in exchange for his approval of their infrastructure plan.
The numbers (in billions of dollars):Â 180 for rails and buses; 65 for ports/airports/waterways; 110 for sewer and water; 100 for energy; and 20 for lands. Unspecified expenditures bring the proposal total to $1T.
Obama was unable to enact the program due to Republican opposition based upon deficit spending concerns.
President Trump, who campaigned on the promise to put America back to work improving the infrastructure will want to know how their plan will pay for the program.
Let’s see how free-spending politicians fare at the bargaining table with a veteran, profit-minded businessman.
