Fresh from his Santa Claus tour of Cuba, Barack Hussein has lifted the ban on lethal weapons trade between the U.S. and Viet Nam.

This will be a benefit to Hanoi and a push for America.

Some say our enemy’s enemy is our friend. China is not on good terms with Viet Nam.

Others say Hanoi’s less-than-stellar human rights policies should disqualify them for such a gift. The idea is they might use the weapons against their own citizens as Communist governments are known to do.

The move will certainly increase tensions between China, who continues to display some serious saber rattling in the South China Sea, and the U.S. Some say having Hanoi as an ally will help the next President when the China/US shoving match inevitably erupts.

As usual this action was taken without first seeking Congressional approval.

Viet Nam only spends about $1B annually on weapons, most of that from Russia. So there is no meaningful  boost to the American economy, or to new jobs. Putin will probably be miffed about the lost business.

Oh well, in this administration it is not a matter of cooperative discussion between the Executive and Legislative branches (like the law requires), but a matter of what Obama wants to do.

Wake up America. Vote out the Liberal/Socialist/Communist/Progressives.
