The following is a true story. There are many stories just like it today in America.
A U.S. schoolteacher had a moral problem with referring to a student using pronouns for the sex opposite to the student’s. The student was pretending to be a member of the opposite sex.
School administrators told the teacher to use whatever pronouns the student demanded.
The teacher refused, but agreed to use the students preferred name rather than their legal name so that pronouns were not necessary. Problem solved? No,
The teacher was fired for “avoiding the use of preferred pronouns.”!!
