England has some woke hospitals who are concerned about the use of non-inclusive language in their maternity departments.

The terms “mother’s milk” and “breast milk” are to be immediately replaced with “chest milk“. Clearly those old phrases exclude all genders other than female. Those antiquated and insensitive phrases wrongfully exclude all non-lactating persons (formerly known as “males”) from participating in the breast feeding process.

Also, the word “Mother” is no longer appropriate when referring to the person to whom the other end of the infant’s umbilical cord was attached. The word “Mother” will henceforth be replaced with “the birthing parent”. This allows persons who do not have female human reproductive systems to fulfill the maternal role, including chest feeding.
