POTUS 46 (for now) nominated Avril Danica Haines to be the Director of National Intelligence.
Haines had a high-up Spook position under POTUS 44 Barry Soetoro. She breezed through the approval process on a nice tailwind supplied by 34 Republican Senators!
It seems, early-on, that the 117th Senate has quite a few members who got elected as Republicans but are caucusing with the Democrats, just like the two Independents, Sanders (VT) and King (ME).
