Imagine a system of contracts where you read the contract as thoroughly as you wish and, once you are satisfied with it you put it in an envelope, seal it, and SIGN THE ENVELOPE!
Once the envelope containing the contract which is not signed by you [let’s say for example it is for the final payment-in-full of the loan on your home] is delivered by the U.S. Postal service the envelope is opened and THE UNSIGNED CONTRACT IS ENTERED INTO THE OFFICIAL RECORD!
What happened to your validating signature which makes the whole process legal? Oh, that envelope was thrown in the waste basket. Your signature is now on its way to the landfill. There is no legal proof that you have paid-off your mortgage!
Unbelievable that such a system exists? It does exist… in the form of Vote-By-Mail. It is how many Americans express their choice for who will represent them in Congress and in the White House… not to mention various measures which may determine their quality of life.
In case of a voting dispute, how can a legal validation be performed if there is no way to determine who filled-out each particular ballot? There is NO SIGNED BALLOT!
