There are 14 days remaining until the dawn of Election Day 2020!
The Republicans are currently campaigning furiously from coast-to-coast with both Trump– who is recently recovered from a case of the China Virus– and Pence, hitting the campaign trail every day. Every appearance is greeted with overflow crowds of excited supporters. For example, yesterday a line of cars formed a moving parade to welcome the President to Tucson, Arizona. That line of cars was 30-miles long! Such excitement is typical of every one of the President’s appearances.
The Democrats are barely campaigning at all. In fact, Biden–who seems to be exhausted and uninterested– has suspended all public appearances until the next scheduled debate coming-up soon! Harris is making whistle-stop visits around the nation. These low-energy events are attended by a few members of the Press and, maybe, a few scattered supporters. This is unprecedented in modern American politics.
If one were to judge the outcome of the election solely from the personal appearance events of the candidates, the conclusion would indicate a landslide victory for the Republicans.
According to the odds makers, aka pollsters, the race is actually close with the Democrats having the advantage right now. These are the same people who prompted Time magazine to pre-print their “Madam President” issue four years ago.
Media commercials are being heavily used by both sides. Untold millions of dollars are being spent daily for pricey air time on television and social media. It seems like Trump and Pence are running against the mainstream media.
It is hard to dismiss the current idea that this is the most important election in American history.
