A FEW MASK FACTS

A 2015 scientific study (read it HERE) determined that people wearing cloth masks are 13 times more likely to become infected with a flu virus than people wearing disposable surgical masks. No government agency advocates for surgical masks being worn by the publicy because such masks must be reserved for medical/first responder personnel.
A 2010 scientific test (read it HERE) concluded that “The penetration values obtained for common fabric materials indicate that only marginal respiratory protection can be expected.”
A study by the National Academy of Sciences (read it HERE) concluded that using non-medical masks “… may give users a false sense of protection that will encourage risk taking and/or decrease attention to other hygiene measures.”
An engineering professor at Virginia Tech who studies virus transmission cautioned that people should not rely on homemade masks to prevent inhalation of viruses in the air. (Read about her HERE).
A, systematic review of 10 separate studies by the Center for Disease Control found “no significant reduction in influenza transmission with the use of face masks.” (Read it HERE).
This is a small sample of the exhaustive studies done on the subject of masks as a way to control the flu.
It seems there be something other than proven science behind the push for mandatory mask wearing.
Who, in an election year, would profit from making the current situation in America look much more frightening than facts indicate?
