There is a dramatic tale in the Bible about a king who wonders about the immigration policies of his kingdom (I Samuel 21:15). He asks his bureaucrat underling a profound question: “Have I need of mad men, that ye have brought this fellow to play the mad man in my presence? Shall this fellow come into my house?”

It seems the co-founder of The Home Depot is wondering the same thing all these centuries later. Ken Langone stated yesterday, after a madman of the Islamic faith rented a truck from his company and rammed into a group of New York City pedestrians and cyclists killing and injuring many innocent people: “Nothing proves to me more than this experience that we need to know who’s here with us. How the hell can we just say, ‘Come on in and we don’t care how you got in here and we don’t care where you’re from or what you did or what your background was’? We have enough screwballs in America without importing them.” 

Maybe the Obama appointed (un-elected) federal judges should stop thwarting President Trump’s efforts to control immigration so madmen don’t come so easily into our house? Hmm.
