Word meanings can evolve to become something quite different from what they originally defined.
Take the word “Republican” for example. It once delineated a political ideology which stood defiantly at-odds with Liberalism/Socialism/Progressivism/Communism.
In today’s world there are quite a few high-level political characters who call themselves Republicans but support Hillary Clinton.
Register and vote against Liberalism/Socialism/Progressivism/Communism.
