U. of Tennessee educators believe pronouns like she, he, him and hers offend people.
The university’s PRIDE CENTER has implemented new gender neutral pronouns. For example; ze, hir, zir, xe, xem and xyr.
This is being done to avoid “singling out transgender or non-binary students.”
For example, his birth certificate might say Big Earl is a white male. But what if Big Earl identifies as a woman of color named Velveeta? The school says Big Earl must be called “Velveeta”, and never be the object of pronouns like “he”, or “his”.
